London Olympic Shooting Arena

Fenton Holloway were appointed to provide membrane and structural engineering services to a specialist contractor for the design of three temporary demountable buildings for the Shooting Arenas in Woolwich for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games.

Our work entailed the structural cladding design and related bespoke support elements for incorporation onto steel box truss primary framing assembled from an existing kit of parts. We worked closely with the Architects and primary frame contractor to co-ordinate and advise on detailed interfaces providing practical and buildable alternatives.

The buildings included the Finals Range : 54m x 47m x 26m high seating building with 56m x 32m Field of Play, Combined (10m & 50m) Range : 107m x 20m wide and the 25m Range : 56m x 22m wide giving a total internal and external cladding area in excess of 20,000m²
